Tommy Adler was born and raised in Oklahoma City. He graduated from Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School and earned an undergraduate degree in Public Relations/Journalism from the University of Oklahoma. Attorney Adler then earned his Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law.

Upon admission to the State Bar, Mr. Adler worked as a Public Defender in Oklahoma County in the felony trial division. He represented clients in over 1,000 cases ranging from misdemeanors to murders. Mr. Adler also assisted in the training of new lawyers at the Public Defender's office and drafted the still-used protocol manual for the appropriate and professional representation of clients. Brian Jones, Oklahoma Criminal Defense Lawyer

Brian Jones was born and raised in Talihina, Oklahoma. He graduated from Talihina High School in 2002, and enrolled in St. JohnÕs College in Annapolis, Maryland. At St. JohnÕs, he served as Student Body President and was a representative to the CollegeÕs Board of Visitors and Governors. He graduated from St. JohnÕs in 2006 and enrolled in the University of Oklahoma College of Law. He was a member of the Oklahoma Law Review and the Civil Rights Moot Court Team, received the American Jurisprudence Award for Academic Excellence in the study of Capital Punishment, was on the DeanÕs List for three years and graduated with Distinction in 2009.

While in law school he interned with Kator, Parks & Weiser of Austin, Texas, developed an election law manual for the Oklahoma Democratic Party, studied Native American law as a clerk with Hobbs, Straus, Dean & Walker, and interned with the criminal defense division of Atkins & Markoff.

After passing the bar in 2009, Brian opened his own practice in Shawnee, Oklahoma, where he gained experience in a wide range of legal areas and developed his trial skills as a working lawyer. In his first bench trial, he defeated a former district court judge, and later overcame a summary judgment motion in a mergers and acquisitions case by an attorney with twenty-plus years of experience in the field. In July of 2010, he became an associate attorney with the Hunsucker DUI Defense Firm. He returned to Atkins & Markoff in December of 2010, as an attorney with the firmÕs criminal defense division.

Daniel Pines Markoff, Oklahoma Attorney

Mr. Markoff was born and raised in Houston, Texas, received his undergraduate degree from The University of Texas at Austin and his law degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law. He also studied Comparative Law at Oxford University, and Spanish at the Universidad de Valencia, in Valencia, Spain. While in law school, he was the recipient of the Raymond D. Naifeh Judicial Fellowship, and clerked for Oklahoma Country District Judge Eugene H. Mathews. Prior to his law career, Mr. Markoff worked on the 1988 Presidential Campaign as National Advance Staff, and as the Immigration Coordinator for the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program.

Mr. Markoff was one of the first lawyers in Oklahoma to represent women injured by silicone breast implants and the diet drug combination, Fen/Phen. During those cases, and others, Mr. Markoff was interviewed by CNN, The CBS Evening News, Cosmopolitan Magazine and all major TV stations in Oklahoma City and Tulsa. He also represented and assisted Lynn Starks, who with the help of State Representative Leonard Sullivan, changed the laws regarding bunk bed construction statewide, nationwide and worldwide.

Jeffrey R. Atkins, Oklahoma Attorney

Mr. Atkins is a native Oklahoman, born and raised in Sapulpa, Oklahoma. He received his undergraduate degree in business administration from the University of Central Oklahoma where he was also a 4-year member of the golf team. He obtained his law degree from The University of Oklahoma College of Law. While in law school he received the American Jurisprudence Award for his academic excellence in Conflicts of Laws and Professional Responsibility.

Professional affiliations include: Association of Trial Lawyers of American, Oklahoma Bar Association and the William J. Holloway, Jr. American Inn of Court. Mr. Atkins is admitted to practice in all state and Federal Court Districts in Oklahoma.

Mr. Atkins has been married for 15 years and has 2 children. In addition to his law practice, he is very active in his community and church. He currently serves on the board of Infant Crisis Services and the Rose Creek Property Owners Association, is entering his sixth season as a coach for his daughter's soccer team in the Edmond Soccer Club, and co-teaches kindergarten Sunday School with his wife.

Barry R. Davis, Oklahoma Attorney

Mr. Davis was born in Havre de Grace, Maryland, raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, received his undergraduate degree in 1971 from the University of Oklahoma and received his law degree from Oklahoma City University Law School in 1975. Mr. Davis has maintained a commercial and insurance trial practice in Oklahoma for thirty years. He is a certified mediator, trained by the American Arbitration Association, and has mediated and arbitrated over 1,000 cases.

Mr. Davis is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, the Oklahoma County Bar Association, and the Association of Attorney-Mediators. Jerri Neighbors was raised in Texas and moved to Oklahoma in 1995 after graduating from Texas Christian University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Communications and Human Relations. Ms. Neighbors attended law school at Oklahoma City University School of Law, graduating in 2001 cum laude. She received the CALI award foracademic excellence in Legal Research and Writing III and Criminal Procedure. She was honored on the faculty honor roll and a member of the Moot Court Honors Board. While in law school, Ms. Neighbors worked with the personal injury firm of Norman & Edem, where she continued to practice until 2008 when she began working as a consumer advocate lawyer and then expanded her expertise into family practice as a solo practitioner. She joined the firm of Atkins and Markoff in August, 2009 in the family law division.

Ms. Neighbors is a volunteer for Oklahoma Lawyers for Children, having received the 2005 Mona Lambird Service to Children Award. When volunteering, she represents children whose parents have been accused of abuse and neglect and providesa voice for the children. Ms. NeighborsÕ professional affiliations include the Oklahoma Bar Association, Oklahoma County Bar Association and the Oklahoma Association for Justice (formerly Oklahoma Trial Lawyers Association). She is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Western, Eastern and Northern Districts of Oklahoma.

Ms. Neighbors is married to Larry and together they have one child. When not practicing law, she enjoys spending time with her family and watching her husband race sprint cars throughout the mid-west.

Melissa Hedrick

Melissa Hedrick was born in Arlington, Texas. She moved with her family to Oklahoma City in 1989 when her father had received a call from an Oklahoma City church to be its minister. Ms. Hedrick received her undergraduate degree in Political Science with a minor in History from the University of Oklahoma, where she graduated with special distinction. Ms. Hedrick entered the Oklahoma City University School of Law where she was awarded the Hatton W. Sumners Scholarship, one of the most prestigious law school scholarships in the country that provides for full tuition and educational expenses.

Ms. Hedrick received her Juris Doctorate from the Oklahoma City University School of Law, where she graduated first in her class and Summa Cum Laude. In addition, Ms. Hedrick received numerous honors and awards from Oklahoma City University School of Law, including CALI Awards for Academic Excellence (scoring the highest grade in her class) in 13 courses. Additionally, Ms. Hedrick was named to the Faculty Honor Roll and Dean's List for every semester. She also received the Judge Tom Brett Award for Excellence in Criminal Law, and an Outstanding Graduate Award for Outstanding Academic Performance. This is an award which is voted on by the faculty at Oklahoma City University School of Law. Ms. Hedrick also served as an officer in Merit Scholars and as a Member of the Law Review for the Oklahoma City University School of Law.

Ms. Hedrick joined Atkins and Markoff shortly after graduating law school, focusing her practice in the areas of medical malpractice, mass tort litigation, and personal injury. Ms. Hedrick is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association, and the Oklahoma Bar Association's Young Lawyer's Division.

Ms. Hedrick is married to her husband of nearly 10 years and has one "child," a German Shepherd named Bear. With her husband, she enjoys hiking in Colorado and Red River, New Mexico, as well as running, keeping an impressive fresh herb garden, reading, and playing with Bear.

Dorothy Heim

Dorothy Heim was born in Mobile, Alabama but grew up in Denver, Colorado. Ms. Heim graduated from West Texas A & M with a bachelors in Criminal Justice Administration and minor in Political Science. She then taught and coached at a private school in Amarillo, Texas for a few years before moving to Oklahoma City to attend law school at Oklahoma City University School of Law. While in law school Ms. Heim was on Law Review and the Mock Trial team and worked for the law firm of Fulkerson & Fulkerson, a general practice firm. Upon graduation, Ms. Heim was hired on full time with Fulkerson & Fulkerson practicing in the area of personal injury, insurance bad faith, and civil rights litigation.

Ms. Heim then went into solo practice focusing in the area of personal injury, civil rights, and consumer rights. In 2008 she was offered and accepted a position with Alaska Legal Services Corp. to be the Supervising Attorney of their Fairbanks office. There she worked with victims of domestic violence, family law, and consumer rights. In July 2010, Dorothy Heim joined the Law Firm of Atkins and Markoff.

In her free time Ms. Heim enjoys camping, back packing, boating, working out, and coaching.

Ashley Smart

Ashley Smart grew up in Elizabeth City, North Carolina before moving to Conroe, Texas. After graduating high school in Texas, Ms. Smart moved to Oklahoma where she attended the University of Oklahoma. Ms. Smart received her undergraduate degree in Criminology with a minor in Spanish. She studied Spanish at the Universidad Aut—noma de Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Mexico. Ms. Smart received her Juris Doctorate Degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law. While in law school, Ms. Smart received CALI awards for academic excellence in several areas. She was also honored on the Dean's List.

Throughout law school, Ms. Smart worked as a legal intern with the personal injury firm of Homsey, Cooper, Hill & Associates. She joined the firm of Atkins & Markoff in May, 2010 in the family law division.

While not practicing law, Ms. Smart enjoys spending time with her fiancˇ, Kevin, by camping, traveling, and going to the lake. Ms. Smart is an avid University of Oklahoma fan and loves O.U. football. She also enjoys running and has participated in the Oklahoma City Memorial Marathon as well as the Redbud Classic.
